Pharos Capital Sells Majority Stake in MOTION PT Group

Dallas, TX and Nashville, TN — February 14, 2023 — Pharos Capital Group, LLC, a middle-market private equity firm based in Dallas and Nashville, announced the sale of its majority stake in portfolio company MOTION PT Group (“MOTION”) to Confluent Health.

MOTION is a provider of physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy services, with 59 clinic locations across Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, and New York. The parties did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.

During Pharos’ ownership, MOTION completed more than 25 acquisitions, expanded beyond its original Brooklyn and Manhattan footprint into new markets, and built relationships with hospitals and health systems. These efforts supported the goals of expanding access to care, improving patient outcomes, and reducing the overall cost of healthcare.

With Pharos’ support, MOTION advanced its strategic growth plan while continuing to strengthen its clinical culture and focus on patient experience. The company’s rehabilitation and therapy services are delivered in outpatient physical therapy settings, which can offer a lower-cost care environment for patients and payors.
