Pharos Capital Hires Alice Rhee as Head of Investor Relations & Social Impact
October 14, 2025
We are pleased to announce that Alice Rhee, a two-time Emmy award-winning journalist and former philanthropy executive, will join Pharos Capital as the first-ever Head of Investor Relations and Social Impact.
In this newly created role, Rhee will work closely with the founding partners, Dr. Kneeland Youngblood and Bob Crants, as well as Jim Phillips, to drive the firm's next decade of growth. She will report to CEO Dr. Kneeland Youngblood.
Pharos invests in healthcare companies that aim to improve patient outcomes, increase access to care, and/or lower the cost of healthcare for patients. The firm focuses on supporting underserved areas, as well as populations with complex health and social needs, most notably in rural and urban communities, as well as on Native American tribal lands. Pharos seeks transformational outcomes by focusing on patients with chronic disease, patients who live in healthcare ‘deserts’, patients who simply can’t afford the care they need, and families whose lives have been disrupted because of illnesses that could have been detected early or prevented.
“Recruiting Alice was both serendipitous and the logical next step in the Pharos business plan. I believe she brings a multi-disciplinary skill set, knowledge, and networks woven through media, the nonprofit sector, philanthropy, family offices, and foundations,” said CEO Kneeland Youngblood. “Her commitment to excellence is demonstrated in these sectors and is matched by her reputation for integrity and building deep and durable relationships and partnerships.”
Founding partner and Pharos’s Chief Investment Officer Bob Crants said the new role represents an important step toward realizing the firm’s longstanding ambitions.
“We have been in business for more than 25 years. In 2010, we sharpened our investment focus to prioritize our greatest area of strength: health care and investing in healthcare companies that put the patient first and at the center. Since then, we recognized the need for a leader to build our Investor Relations and Social Impact division,” said Crants. “Alice cares deeply about the greater good and has made a difference in people’s lives through her work in journalism and in philanthropy. We now have a leader who can help us tell our story and invite investors into this compelling journey with multiple bottom lines.”
“I have built my entire career around serving organizations seeking to deliver tangible benefits and good for society,” said Rhee. “Pharos’s focus on patient-centered health care is deeply aligned with my own values, and I am eager to advance this mission to serve investors, healthcare innovators, patients, and communities.”
